Supporting people on their journey to employment

Before joining LYCS I really struggled in secondary school. However the staff in the LYCS never gave up on me, they helped me see my potential and always treated me with dignity and respect. I managed to achieve my dream of studying law at Trinity College Dublin. Without the support of the amazing staff, I never would have got to where I am today. Attending the LYCS was the best decision I ever made.

I learned so much in this course; I want to take even more knowledge from you – it makes you think positively about people.

I love being here in sewing class - the environment is so relaxed, our tutor is devoted. She has a real human touch, and we have become a community. Everyone is supporting everyone else, with what they are making and in life.

I’ve been using the service for a long time, the centre is like a home away from home for the children and it’s a lovely atmosphere when you come through the door. You feel listened to and the children love attending the creche and seem to have so much fun! I’d recommend to anyone!

When I found LYCS, they gave me an opportunity to be part of the CE Programme. I was very afraid; to make mistakes, but co-workers, my manager and supervisor are very helpful and patient with me. They teach and explain things I have to do. I have done an English Course, I have now a B1. I'll push myself to improve English Language. This is an experience that I ever had before. I’m continuing with the Leadership programme course, also I'm doing Frontline Community Development course. I like to be involved with New Community Adult Education, to improve my duties. I have dreams to be part of Community Groups and work to help and support people.
