Adult Education Programme years 18 +
Volunteers
The Adult Education Programme welcomes the contributions that many volunteers made to the programme in the past, and look forward to availing of the services of volunteers on an ongoing basis. During 2005/2006 we had two volunteers who have dedicated their time to our literacy class. They were Sr. Patricia Sweeney and Lorraine Deegan. Their expertise, skills and attitude were instrumental in building the confidence and further developing the reading and writing skills of the participants. This year we have two new volunteers assisting with the reading and writing classes.
Working as a volunteer in the Adult Education Programme provides all volunteers with an opportunity to explore and develop their own skills, experience and approaches to working with adults which is respectful and empowering. Volunteers are given support from Noreen Byrne and Philip Daly. We also offer some training opportunities.
If you are interested in volunteering with us we would love to hear from you. Please contact us by ringing Colette Spears, Project Co-ordinator on 01-8363416 or e-mailing Colette at colette.spears@lycs.ie
