Programmes
The Centre runs 4 main programmes:
- FETAC Level 3 Major Award
- FETAC Level 3 Employability Skills
- FETAC Level 4 Major Award

Below is a discription of some of the elements of the programmes:

FETAC Level 3 – This course gives trainees an introduction to various subject areas. It is suited for someone who has left school with no (or a poor) Junior Certificate. FETAC/NCVA modules are completed by building up a portfolio of work in a particular area. On completion of 8 modules at level 3 (including the manditory ones) a learner will achieve a Major Award at level 3.
- FETAC Level 4 – This course is aimed at peope who have completed their Junior Certificate or Leaving Certificate but are finding it difficult to progress to further education or training. Learners will complete a total of 8 modules by building up a portfolio of work and by sitting a short examination (in some subject areas). It is hoped that learners will progress from this programme to employment or futher education and training courses.

The European Computer Driving Licence (ECDL) – this is an accredited computer-training course, which consists of seven stages or modules. Trainees can take one module at a time whilst in LYCS. On completion of all seven modules, the trainee will receive his/her ‘Driving Licence’. This certificate is recognised in each of the EU member states as well as all business companies.

Work Experience - LYCS assists young people who are finding it difficult to find employment. We can help young people find work placements and/or employment. We have developed links with various employers who we regularly place learners with for short periods of work experience. This assists young people gain valuable experience in the workplace. We can also assist young people prepare their CV's and Job Applications.
